Your Online Presence: Are You “Social” Enough?
Our colleague Kirk Hazlett presents a special breakfast seminar featuring a lively interactive session on the effective use of social media for professional advancement, career growth, or business development.
If you’re still questioning the real value of having an active social media presence you’ll find your answers here.Professor Hazlett will discuss the many ways in which social media today - especially LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter - are being used by hiring managers and other executives to identify and connect with potential employees or business partners. After 35+ years' federal government and nonprofit organization PR experience, Hazlett (APR, member of the PRSA’s College of Fellows) is now a full-time Professor of Communication/Public Relations at Curry College, and a part-time Visiting Lecturer in the graduate communication program at Regis College. Join the wonderfully varied women who make up BWC at The College Club, 44 Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the 30th. Doors will open at 7:45 a.m. Just click on "Buy This." We'll save your seat for the seminar - and you'll enjoy Chef Jesse's Spring breakfast!

On Saturday, April 27, BWC again will participate in Strides Against Stigma, a fund- (and consciousness-) raiser for Families for Depression Awareness - FFDA. Our President, Danielle Kempe, is fielding the team. Interested walkers can join by registering at www.stridesagainststigma.org. Select “Boston Women Communicators” in the “Join an Existing Team” field.
You’ll have a great time; receive a t-shirt (see above!), lunch, and pedometer - and enjoy step dance performances. (We even joined in last year – no shame!) Let’s help remove social stigma towards families struggling with depression. Hope you’ll join us in a wonderful effort.
